Good evening, ladies!!!
I must apologize, as I have done us a disservice… most of the content that has been shared thus far, has been in relation to activities that can be done with a mate. When in actuality, in order to know what we want and what works best for US in the bedroom, we must know about ourselves first order to communicate our needs, right?!?
This group is by us and for us, building confidence, communicating our desires, and experimenting with new things. We have a variety of women in this group, intrigued about what more there is out there and being able to express ourselves in a supportive environment. So, I want to ensure I am meeting the needs of everyone regardless of their relationship status.
My husband and I learned about a very interesting documentary the other day from a friend and watched it together the other night. It’s called: “The Pleasure Is Ours” from the Goop Lab, which is the modern lifestyle brand created by actress Gwyneth Paltrow. I highly recommend watching, it can only be found on Netflix and is very informative. It discusses the lack of knowledge women have about their own bodies and normalizes self exploration.
How does anyone know about pleasuring oneself, as it’s not taught in Sex Ed. in school and it’s unlikely that your parents have had the courage to talk with you about it. Society really only tolerates men talking about releasing pent up energy through masturbating, whereas, women are viewed as “not needing to pleasure themselves” and there being a stigma against those that do… in secret.
So, whether you are coupled up, doing the dating thing and have gaps in intimacy partners or just need and want to relax and release… there is no need for a reason, just enjoy yourself!!! Here are just some of the benefits and reasons why you should pleasure yourself:
– IT IS NORMAL
– It is good for you
– It improves your sex life
– It can ease post-menopause sex challenges
– You can take as long as you wish (more detail on these benefits in a future post)
