Mike Vrabel, coach of the Tennessee Titans, suggested he would be willing to “amputate his own Titan” if it meant his team would make the Super Bowl. Or he may have said he would when they make the game. Either way, an interesting subplot to this was that his wife wrote on social media that she wouldn’t mind, and might even help!
I’m sure there’s little reason to think they are serious, but this does point to putting other desires ahead of your own love life. And if a wife is volunteering for that duty, it suggests she is definitely not getting the attention she deserves. I think many of us have been guilty of not making sex important in our relationships, but those choices and taking things for granted can lead to ultimately losing the connection that was originally there. Making time and effort for great lovemaking results in pleasure and connection that would never be sacrificed, even for a chance at the biggest game of your life.
After watching the Super Bowl halftime show, and the reactions to it, it’s striking how threatening sexuality is in our country. Especially when compared to the symbolism also contained in the show. There were overt displays of kids being in cages, which is much more troubling, whatever the reasoning, than watching sexy women dance. Less direct is the heritage of the performers- which may or may not be threatening on its own.
Of course, that’s not anything directly to do with what was displayed during halftime. But outcry about Latina women dancing in sexy attire seemed to suggest many are much more upset about a seductive show than other ongoing issues that also involve the Latin X community. This blog is not at all looking to be political, but we feel a need to help sexuality be less frightening and threatening, in society and in our individual relationships. Hopefully our posts and your thoughts can help allow sex to be a more welcomed topic in all of our lives.💋
